Born and raised in Montgomery County, MD, YT Lechner moved to Las Vegas, NV in 2003 to help build the world’s preeminent entertainment automation company. As General Manager and COO, YT directed teams of designers, electricians, welders, programmers, fabricators, and machinists to create and install countless theatrical productions, including Le Reve at the Wynn Hotel, Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian Hotel, and various Cirque Du Soleil and Disney shows around the world, as well as many other venues where entertainers were determined to push the envelope in themed, live entertainment. In 2012, YT moved to New York to run one of the largest Broadway scenery and automation shops in the country, again directing large teams of scenic designers and drafters, carpenters, welders, electricians, artists, and sculptors to create hundreds of Broadway shows and thousands of shows in total, including Disney’s Frozen, Phantom of the Opera, Book of Mormon, Wicked, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, and many others.
After many years of the chaotic lifestyle that is entertainment, YT chose to return to Silver Spring, MD to be close to his family and friends and take up the slightly less chaotic but just as fast-paced life of renovating and restoring homes and remodeling commercial buildings. With the creation of Rock Creek Renovations, YT brings the same focus and energy that drove some of the largest and most complicated shows in the world to residential and commercial remodeling.
Working with some of the most skilled partners and sub-contractors in the region, Rock Creek Renovations brings a limitless depth of skill and knowledge to each project. Whether your project requires standard construction methods, classic timber-framed structures, complex steel fabrication, or unique construction solutions, and you need someone with a deep knowledge of construction and project management, Rock Creek Renovations is there to ensure your project is completed on schedule, on budget and to your satisfaction.
How does building Broadway shows translate to renovating homes?
“In the entertainment industry, the term ‘the show must go on’ is ingrained into our psyche and we know that deadlines matter because ‘the opening curtain waits for no one.’ We bring that same passion and commitment to home renovations. We understand that clients choose us because we communicate our plan to bring the design to life and then we faithfully execute that plan. Whether big or small, each project takes a high degree of communication, planning, execution, and the ability to bring together the right team to create the magic of a new home.” -YT Lechner
